WHAT'S ON?
See below for an
sample timetable of the services and groups we are offering for
2009. |
Why does it exist?
People experiencing mental ill health can find it difficult to cope with
the symptoms of their illness and the attitudes of others to their
illness. Peace of Mind exists to assist individuals to manage their own
lives and achieve their potential, and to ensure that that they are not
stigmatized in any way.
When is it open?
Peace of Mind currently operates on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
from 10am to 3.30pm. We provide a monthly timetable to our service users
that details what is available on any given day. Examples of support
offered include a self management course, one to one support, drop in
and peer support groups.

and support individuals to explore opportunities and activities.
The Recovery approach
The Recovery approach aims to see our users of our service
holistically, as complete people who have the capacity to cope with
their distress in such a way that they are able to participate in a full
life, developing self esteem and self determination. It aims to assist
people to identify realistic life goals, and enable them to achieve
them.
Service User involvement
We involve service users in all aspects of our organisation. We have
people with personal experience of mental health as volunteers, staff
and board members. If you want to find out how to get involved, come
along to one of our monthly service user meetings and share your
thoughts.
