Prepare for Launch ...
Mind
in Taunton and West Somerset is offering adventurous supporters the chance
to complete a sponsored skydive for free.
For many jumpers it is the thrill of a lifetime – freefalling through the
air at 120 mph – definitely an achievement to be proud of.
You need to raise a minimum amount of sponsorship, depending on the kind
of jump you do, but there will be plenty of support available to help you
raise as much money as possible - the sky’s the limit!
To help you raise money by making online sponsorship easy peasy, we've
teamed up with Bmycharity.
If you would like to find out more about doing a jump you can contact
Stuart at the office on 01823 334906 or email

Jo's story
Mind supporter Jo Middleton was brave enough to
do a sponsored parachute jump for Mind TWS. Here is Jo's
story.
"Firstly, a big thank you to everyone who sponsored me. I now have to
collect up all the money please!! If you didn't get round to sponsoring me
but would like to their is still time too!
The jump was an 'experience' - I wasn't at all scared or anything in my
head, but my body didn't really agree.
When they opened the door for us to jump it did suddenly hit me that I
actually had to jump out into the SKY, but it was exciting - it seemed much
further up than I imagined it was going to. The jump out and the freefall
was amazing, I knew we were going really fast but at the same time it felt
like we were just hanging there. Then the parachute opened and that was
really odd because suddenly it felt like we had stopped completely and
everything went silent because the noise of the wind had gone. I had a go at
steering from side to side and all was fine...
...then the guy on my back said he'd show me what a real spin was like
and it all started to go a bit wrong. I felt VERY sick indeed! He was
counting down - 3000 feet, 2000 feet - and all I could think was 'please
don't let me be sick in mid air all over this man's face'. He got to 1000
feet and I started to feel very strange indeed. Next thing I know we are on
the ground and I am being helped to my feet by a rather concerned looking
group of strangers!
The picture is me a couple minutes after I regained consciousness! Hey
ho, all for charity... hope you feel you got your money's worth!"
